Offered in thermally-enhanced D2PAK packages, the SUM series of current and temperature sensing Trench FETs includes what is reported as the industry's first 75V current sensing MOSFET. The devices are said to provide thermal resistance up to 33% lower than standard D2PAK packages, as well as up to 20% higher current handling capability and up to 50% higher power dissipation. Maximum on-resistance ratings are as low as 4.5 m_. In certain designs, the higher current handling capability and lower on-resistance of the devices can reduce the number of MOSFETs needed to reach the required current level and power load. Samples and production quantities of SUM50N03-13LC, SUM60N04-12LT, SUM60N04-05LT, SUM60N04-06T, SUM60P05-11LT, SUM60N08-07C, and SUM60N08-07T are available now. Price ranges from $0.72 to $2.14 each/100K. VISHAY INTERTECHNOLOGY INC., Shelton, CT., (402) 563-6866.
