Fixed Gain Op Amps Fabbed Using Unique SiGe Process

Claiming speed increases up to three time that of comparable devices, the THS4300 family of fixed gain op amps are the first devices to be manufactured using the company’s complementary bipolar silicon-germanium (BiCom-III) process. This process is claimed to be the first to integrate both NPN- and PNP-type bipolar transistors to take advantage of the high speeds of SiGe. The THS4302 op amp provides a bandwidth of 2.4 GHz and a fixed gain of +5 V/V. Additional 2.4 GHz devices are scheduled for release in early 2003. These include the THS4301 with a fixed gain of +2V/V and the THS4303 with a fixed gain of +10 V/V. Operating from a single 3V to 5V power supply, the op amps also feature a third-order output intercept point (OIP3) of +46 dBm into a 100? load at 100 MHz and a third-order intermodulation distortion (IMD3) of -90 dBc at 100 MHz with a 1VP-P signal envelope into a 100? load.
