Claiming to be a cost effective RF front-end for dual-mode 802.11b/g WLAN systems, the SE2526A integrates a power amplifier, power detector, transmit/receive switch, diversity switch, and filtering into a 5.5 x 7 x 1.4-mm chip-scale package, fully matched to 50 ohms. The device reportedly can replace up to 40 components typically required for the RF front-end in a package that is 50% smaller than similar devices. Operating from a single 3V to 3.6V supply, power consumption is 160 mA in 802.11g mode. Also when operating in 802.11g, the device delivers an power output of +16 dBm while achieving an error vector magnitude (EVM) of less than 3%.
