For increased efficiency, the SUR family of TrenchFET power MOSFETs employ reverse-lead TO-252 DPAKs that accommodate inverse mounting with a heatsink on top. This approach allows for cooler device operation as heat dissipates into the air rather than the PCB. Another benefit of this cooler environment, the MOSFETs exhibit lower effective on-resistance values and higher current handling than conventional DPAK devices. The 20V SUR70N02 04P and 30V SUR50N03 06P, SUR50N03 09P, SUR50N03 12P, and SUR50N03 16P specify on-resistance values from 4 mW to 16 mW and are equally serviceable as synchronous and control FETs in dc/dc converters. Pricing starts at $0.60 each 100,000. VISHAY INTERTECHNOLOGY INC., Malvern, PA. (408) 567-8347.
