Revving up for high-quality stereo systems, three additions to the Overture line of audio amplifiers feature quiet fade-in/out mute circuitry and, allegedly, the highest output power available in a single IC. The dual-channel LM4780 delivers up to 60W per channel of continuous average power while the LM4781 three-channel device outputs 35W per channel into an 8W load. Also with three channels, the LM4782 packs 25W per channel of continuous average output power into an 8W load. Each device performs with less than 0.5% THD+N from 20 Hz to 20 kHz. Available in TO-220 packages, prices for the LM4780/81/82 are $3.25, $3.25, and $2.75 each/1,000, respectively. NATIONAL SEMICONDUCTOR CORP., Santa Clara, CA. (800) 272-9959.
