The ADS-953 is claimed as the industry's fastest 18-bit a/d converter with the lowest noise and distortion figures. Sampling at rates up to 1 Msample/s, the device exhibits a noise figure of 76 µVRMS, SNR of 93 dB, and a peak harmonic figure of -95 dB with no pipeline delays. The device offers no missing codes over its full operating temperature ranges of either 0°C to +70°C (ADS-953MC) or -55°C to +110°C (ADS-953ME). It employs a proprietary gate array that provides all necessary timing and control logic to operate from a single edge-triggered start convert pulse. Operating from ±15V and ±5V supplies, power consumption is 1.4W. Prices for the ADS-953MC and ADS-953ME are $464 and $562 each/100, respectively. DATEL INC., Mansfield, MA. (508) 339-3000.
