In a BGA package measuring 3.5 mm x 3.5mm and 1.2 mm in height, the FODB100 optocoupler can withstand maximum operating temp- eratures from –40°C to +125°C. The device targets consumer electronics, such as chargers, adapters, set-top boxes, and appliances, as well as finding a home in industrial power supplies and motor controls. A single-channel optocoupler, it consists of an aluminum gallium arsenide infrared light emitting diode that drives a silicon phototransistor. Reported features include an isolation of 2.5 kVRMS for 1s and a high current transfer ratio at low input current levels. Price is $0.25 each/1,000.
