Targeting a broad range of applications, HSDL-4261 infrared (IrD) emitter delivers a radiant power up to 180 mW/sr with an LED current of 100 mA over the 870-nm wavelength. The emitter is built with iron lead frames to dissipate power over a wide range of currents. Forward voltage is 1.40V at 20 mA, which, in some applications, allows two or more emitters to be connected in series without exceeding the supply-voltage capability. Other features include a 15 ns rise time, 45 ns fall time, and a 26° viewing angle. Available in a 5-mm, T-1 3/4 form-factor package, price is $0.12 each in moderate volumes.
