Claiming new benchmarks in performance, the 16-bit AD9446 a/d converter specifies a signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) of 80 dBfs and a spurious-free dynamic range (SFDR) of 90 dBc. The device samples at 100 Msamples/s, said to be a 10x increase over similar converters in its class. It is also available in an 80 Msample/s version that specifies an 85-dBc SFDR and an 82-dBfs SNR. Other features include an aperture jitter of 60 fs, a typical 16-bit differential nonlinearity (DNL) of ±0.5 LSB, and a typical 16-bit integral nonlinearity (INL) of ±3 LSB. Available in lead-free, 100-lead surface-mount plastic packages, the AD9446-100 and AD9446-80 are priced at $79.90 and $72.25 each/1,000, respectively. ANALOG DEVICES INC., Norwood, MA.
