A/D Converter Has Built-In Demultiplexer

A high-speed a/d converter, the AT84AS004TP contains an on-chip demultiplexer to simplify interfacing with standard FPGAs. The converter is a 10-bit device that runs at a frequency of 2 Gsamples/s, while the demultiplexer is a 1:4 LVDS type. Dynamic performance is specified as an ENOB of 7.8 bit, SFDR of -55 dBFs, and SNR of 51 dB at 2 Gsamples/s in 1st Nyquist conditions. Gain flatness remains flat (±0.2 dB) from dc to 1.5 GHz, allowing use over the 2nd Nyquist zone. The device is an upgrade from an a/d converter released earlier this year that provides identical form factor, pin outs and functions. It allows creating a family of products from the same board design for high-speed digitization applications such as broadband test and measurement equipment, high-speed data acquisition, telecom- munications and defense.
