Designed for IR/optical detection applications where space is at a premium, the BPI series photo interrupters come in packages as small as 9.5 mm x 10 mm from base unit to optic line. Featuring high precision optics, and a variety of gate widths, these miniature devices are claimed as excellent alternatives to conventional switches. The series contains 24 slotted, seven actuator, and five reflective types, including mini-reflective models available in axial and gull-wing packages. Highlighting the group are several miniature models featured in harnessed/connectorized styles, providing a "plug-n-play" unit for replacement and lower installation cost. Forward voltages (VF) of slotted types range from 1.5V maximum at IF=20 mA, IR of 100 μA at VR=5V, and gap widths from 0.125". Light beam interruption of the actuator units range from 0.35VOL at IOL=16 mA. Encoder styles feature two-bit PTR and dual-channel OEIC functions. Prices for the BPI series start at $0.15 each. All configurations are RoHS compliant. AMERICAN BRIGHT OPTOELECTRONICS CORP., Chino, CA. (888) 533-0800.
