Expanding the company's AS15xx family of a/d converters, the 8-channel AS1534 with integrated 2.5V reference seeks deployment in battery-powered products and portable data-acquisition systems requiring parallel I/O and multiple analog inputs. Delivering a 12-bit resolution on each input, the device operates at a conversion speed of 200 ksamples/s while consuming less than 2.5 mA. Power-down options reduce consumption further, in the realm of 0.5 mA at 10 ksamples/s and 1 µA in shutdown mode. Other specs include a THD below –78 dB and an operational temperature range from -40°C to +85°C. The converter is available now in a 44-pin, lead-free PQFP. AUSTRIAMICROSYSTEMS USA INC., Raleigh, NC. (919) 676-5292.
