Assuming position as the industry’s highest power, single-channel digital-audio amplifier, the TAS5261 delivers more than 300W into a 4Ω load, while the two-channel TAS5162 outputs 200W per channel at 6Ω, or 125W into 8Ω. Both employ the company's Class-D technology, which offers an efficiency of greater than 95% and a SNR of 110 dB. The TAS5261 features a THD+N of less than 0.09% at 125W (8Ω). The TAS5162 can drive two channels simultaneously at 200W and is pin-compatible with earlier TAS51x2 devices. Price for the TAS5261 in PSOP-3 packaging is $5.25 each/ 1,000.
