Promising up to 10 times improvement in thermal resistance for half- and full-bridge inverters, the FDD8424H complementary 40V MOSFET in a Dual DPAK housing is groomed for use in backlighting units found in LCD TVs and monitors, plus motor and lamp drives. The device integrates both P-channel high-side and N-channel low-side MOSFETs, allowing for a common drain connection and thereby simplifying board layout and reducing design time. It specifies a thermal resistance of 4.1°C/W for the N-channel and 3.5°C/W for the P-channel. Price is $0.69 each/1,000. FAIRCHILD SEMICONDUCTOR, San Jose, CA. (800) 341-0392.
