Embarking in 5 mm x 6 mm MLP packages, the FDMS9600S and FDMS9620S FET modules promise board-space savings in the realm of 50% for synchronous buck designs. Each integrates a high- and low-side N-channel MOSFET and one Schottky diode. Their pin-outs are designed for a direct connection in PCB layouts to standard PWM controllers. The FDMS9600S provides an output current from 12A to 16A with an on resistance of 7 mΩ to 4.5 mΩ at 10V, while the FDMS9620S delivers 7.5A to 10A with an on resistance of 18 mΩ to 9 mΩ at 10V. Prices for the FDMS9600S and FDMS9620S are $0.90 and $0.50 each/1,000, respectively. FAIRCHILD SEMICONDUCTOR, San Jose, CA. (800) 341-0392.
