Claiming to offer the lowest power consumption for a 12-bit/eight-channel ADC, the AS1538 includes an I2C interface and specifies power consumption in the microamp range. In a 16-pin TSSOP, the chip features a THD of -75 dB and operates from a 2.7V to 5.25V supply. With a conversion speed of 50 ksamples/s, it consumes less as 850 µA including the internal reference. In shutdown mode, supply current drops to less than 1.5 µA. Additionally, the device's internal 2.5V reference or an external reference in the 1V to 5.25V range determines full-scale, analog-input range. AUSTRIAMICROSYSTEMS USA INC., Raleigh, NC.
