The eight TxDAC transmit d/a converters integrate two DACs on a single device. Dissipating 220 mW at their maximum sample rate, the AD911x series dual TxDAC devices allegedly consume 40% less power and are one-third the size of similar transmit DACs while achieving a 10-dB better SFDR performance. The AD971x series dual devices delivering a 2-mA, full-scale output current reportedly consume 70% less power than comparable converters. Each TxDAC device integrates two 14-, 12-, 10- or eight-bit DACs with sample rates up to 125 Msamples/s. They allow users to adjust the full-scale current from 1 to 4 mA or 4 to 20 mA with a single, pin-compatible architecture and common software code. Depending on the device, prices range from $5.95 to $9.50 each/1,000. ANALOG DEVICES, INC., Norwood, MA. (800) 426-2564.
