Heeding the call for higher Internet and networking speeds, the TS617 broadband-signal amplifier operates at speeds up to 200MHz, which addresses services such as 24-Mb/s ADSL2+ and VDSL. The device also supports powerline networking apps using standards such as HomePlug 1.0 and HomePlugAV. It integrates two amplifiers, allowing engineers to connect a HomePlugAV module to the power line using a single TS617. An on-chip power-control block meets the demands for power savings in consumer and business equipment. The dual amplifiers stabilize within one 1 ?s after entering or quitting power-down. Operating from either a 5V or 12V supply, the device is viable for use in PC-powered products or equipment with an independent power supply. Available in a surface-mount SO-14 package, price is $1.40 each/1,000. STMICROELECTRONICS, Lexington, MA. (888) 787-3550.
