Performing direct digital synthesis (DDS) for signals up to 3.6 GHz, the AD9789 and AD9739 14-bit d/a converters exploit the company’s proprietary Mix-Mode super-Nyquist architecture. The AD9789 TxDAC integrates a QAM encoder, interpolator, and digital up-converter that achieve a 2.4-GHz sample rate for cable infrastructure. The 2.5-GHz AD9739 exploits the same DAC core and suits a broad range of applications including wireless-communications equipment, instrumentation, and defense electronics. Both devices provide multi-carrier capability up to the Nyquist frequency in baseband mode and use the mix-mode function to generate RF signals in the second and third Nyquist zones. The AD9739 provides output signals to 3.6 GHz and features a dual-port low-voltage differential signaling interface and an SPI port. Output current is programmable from 8.7 mA to 31.7 mA and maximum power consumption is 1.1W. Prices for the AD9739 and AD9789 are $43.69 and $53.10 each/1,000, respectively.
