April 13, 2010
The MAX4998 two-lane and MAX14998 four-lane DisplayPort passive switches employ separate AUX and HPD controls to route 8+ GHz and low-frequency signals between a peripheral controller hub and either a docking station or DisplayPort connector.

The MAX4998 two-lane and MAX14998 four-lane DisplayPort passive switches employ separate AUX and HPD controls to route 8+ GHz and low-frequency signals between a peripheral controller hub and either a docking station or DisplayPort connector. Both devices meet the latest eDP VESA standards for DisplayPort applications. They operate from a single 3.3V supply and are available in industry-standard packages: a 28-pin, 3.5 mm x 5.5 mm TQFN (MAX4998) and a 42-pin, 3.5 mm x 9 mm, TQFN (MAX14998). Prices start at $2.75 for the MAX14998 and $2.25 for the MAX4998 each/1,000. MAXIM INTEGRATED PRODUCTS, Sunnyvale, CA. (800) 998-8800.
