Introduced as semiconductor tapered amplifiers for high-power tunable and fixed-wavelength applications, the VAMP series accepts numerous fiber-coupled seed sources, enabling easy alignment and helping protect the chip from unintentional misalignment.  Their design includes output isolation, over-current protection, and input-seed monitoring to ensure stable and robust operation. The amplifiers deliver more than 1W of tunable signal frequency radiation when seeded with an appropriate source, such as the company’s Vortex II and Velocity precision tunable lasers. Additionally, they can operate with many homemade seed sources. For more information, call New Focus, Santa Clara, CA. (866) 683-6287.
