CAN Transceiver Offers 5-KV Isolation And Wide Operating Temperatures

Dec. 16, 2011
The ADM3054 emerges as the first signal-only isolated controller area network (CAN) transceiver with an isolation rating to 5 kVRMS and an operating temperature range from -40°C to +125°C.

The ADM3054 emerges as the first signal-only isolated controller area network (CAN) transceiver with an isolation rating to 5 kVRMS and an operating temperature range from -40°C to +125°C. Employing iCoupler digital isolator technology, the 16-lead, 10 mm x 10 mm transceiver in a SOIC-W package reduces component count by about 70% over discrete circuits. Other features include operation from a single 3.3V or 5V supply on VDD1 and 5V on VDD2,  ±36V fault protection on bus pins, plus current-limiting and thermal-shutdown. Price is $2.10 each/1,000.
