Planegg, Germany: Taking advantage of 3D-integration technology, Maxim developed a mono, 3.2W, Class D amplifier replete with input coupling capacitors. Even with the integrated input capacitors, the MAX98314 occupies just 1mm by 1mm, saving approximately 25% more board space than previous versions.

Integrated capacitors offer improved voltage independence and matching over that of standard Class D amplifiers with external input capacitors.  Featuring strong linearity characteristics, the MAX98314 promises to boost system power-supply rejection ratio (PSRR) and enhance performance at low frequencies.

The amplifier suits space-constrained applications, such as mobile devices.
