Mixed-Signal SiP Works With Direct RF FPGAs
Spectrum Control's family of software-definable, RF+ sysetm blocks work with mixed-signal devices like Direct RF FPGAs (see figure). The latest incarnation provides high-fidelity millimeter-wave (mmWave) block conversion that can down-convert wideband mmWave signals covering 18 to 40 GHz into the standard 2- to 18-GHz band. There are two input channels: 18 to 26 GHz and 26 to 40 GHz. It can support applications such as wideband RF front ends, X-Band RF front ends, frequency converters, and power amplifiers.
The SCRS-00-1001 SiP incorporates an Intel FPGA, as well as 13 voltage regulators, 11 RF amplifiers, two digital attenuators, an RF detector, and 11 RF filters. The input and output gain controls are 26 dB; gain is 22 to 28 dB. The SiP requires a 9-V DC power source. Custom configurations are available.
