The IP100-series NAS/iSCSI hybrid storage towers consists of two models with support for either five or ten 3.5" SATA disks, RAID functionality, and 4 x 1 Gb/s of Ethernet host bandwidth. The units each employ a dual-core Intel Atom processor 330 running at 1.6 GHz and with 1MB of cache. Both models in the series include 1 GB of DDR2 RAM, upgradeable to 4 GB. Other features include quad Gigabit Ethernet ports that are upgradable for teaming/bonding, native support for RAID levels 0, 1, 5, and 6, two 3-Gb/s eSATA ports, Open-E's Data Storage Server RAID engine, compatibility with the SMB/CIFS, FTP, HTTP, AppleTalk, and NFS protocols, and a built-in software iSCSI initiator with optional failover function. A standard installation supports 2 TB physical and logical volumes and is upgradable to support larger data repositories. Price for the SSG-IPCA4G1-005B-A1 five-bay black tower with standard OS is $1,100 while the SSG-IPCA4G1-010B-A1 10-bay black tower with standard OS costs $2,500.
