Memory upgrades in the form of module kits are now available for Compaq's recently enhanced AlphaServer ES40 servers. Each kit contains four modules, each of which offers 64, 128, 256 or 512 Mbytes or 1 Gbyte of DRAM. The kits can be used to increase the servers' resident memory to a maximum of 32 Gbytes.
Other features of the kit's modules include a speed rating of 100 MHz and an operating temperature range of 0°C to 55°C. The memory modules are designed to support the ES40's expanding range of applications, such as their use in CAD/CAM, Linux-based computing, Internet and defense systems. The 4-Gbyte memory kits (Model CMX-ES40-4G) are priced at $15,000 each and are available for immediate delivery.
