Small Form-Factor Balanced Antenna Boosts Wi-Fi Performance

Feb. 8, 2010
the MTM-B standalone, meta-material balanced antenna meets the requirements for single band 2.4 or 5 GHz designs as well as dual band 2.4/5 GHz devices
Offering an integrated solution for ultrahigh performance Wi-Fi access points and routers, the MTM-B standalone, meta-material balanced antenna meets the requirements for single band 2.4 or 5 GHz designs as well as dual band 2.4/5 GHz devices. The component sports a small form factor of 15 mm x 14 mm, allegedly 80% smaller than currently available dipoles. As the Wi-Fi industry migrates from 2.4GHz only devices to 2.4/5GHz functionality, the dual band capability of the MTM-B meets the requirements of 2x2 and 3x3 dual concurrent chipsets where a high quality of service is required for apps such as high definition video transmission inside the house for entertainment or gaming.
