Down-Converting Mixers Reduce Power And Size Of 4G Receivers

May 19, 2011
Promising to cut power consumption and reduce size for both MIMO and diversity wideband receivers, the LTC559x family of four dual down-converting mixers cover the 600 MHz to 4.5 GHz frequency range.

Promising to cut power consumption and reduce size for both MIMO and diversity wideband receivers, the LTC559x family of four dual down-converting mixers cover the 600 MHz to 4.5 GHz frequency range. The LTC5590, LTC5591, LTC5592, and LTC5593 offer IIP3 figures beyond 26 dBm, noise figures of less than 10 dB, and conversion gain up to 8.5 dB. The devices can operate on a 3.3V supply without compromising performance while reducing power consumption by more than 24% over comparable devices. Also, they are pin compatible and available in 24-lead, 5 mm x 5 mm plastic QFN packages. LINEAR TECHNOLOGY CORP., Milpitas, CA. (800) 454-6327.
