The LEH Series wire-to-board, crimp style, disconnectable connector, recently introduced by JST Corp,. offers engineers design flexibility with its low profile and space-saving design. The subminiature connector features a 1.8 mm (.071") pitch, a side entry mating height of only 3.0 mm (.118"), a secure friction locking mechanism, and a mechanism to prevent improper insertion. Ideal for low current, low voltage conditions, the LEH Series is designed for LED light applications. The low profile of the connector does not interfere with the luminescence angle of the pcb mounted LED dice.

These SMT connectors are polarized and have a friction locking feature when mated to the cable housing and includes an audible click when mated. The housing is notched on one side for ease of locating pin 1 position. The LEH crimp style connector series is available in 2 circuits with a 3.0 A (AC/DC) rating using a 22 AWG wire at 300 V AC/DC. Temperature range is -550 C to +1050 C including temperature rise in applying electrical current. Available in side entry (right angle) only mounting configuration, the fully shrouded headers are molded from Halogen free, RoHS compliant 94V-0 resin and feature insertion guides for easy and secure mating.

The LEH Series contacts accommodate wire sizes AWG #22 to 26 and are made of tin-plated, copper alloy base material. The box construction ensures stable contact performance, redundant contact points, positive electrical connection and low contact resistance at all times even when subjected to vibration and distortion.

Contacts are offered on standard size reels for semi-automatic or fully automatic application tooling. SMT headers are provided on embossed tape for automatic insertion equipment
