Automation Systems Interconnect Inc. recently introduced a new space saving DIN Rail Mounted, Pluggable, SPDT Relays. It is suitable for ac and dc inductive applications. In these 6.2mm wide devices, standard features are: inductive kickback protection, polarity protection diodes and silver tin oxide contacts.

The ASI328002 is a standard profile Pluggable SPDT Relay Module used to interface between automation equipment and system auxiliary devices. It provides a resistive load of 6 Amps at 250 Vac/30 Vdc, a nominal input current of 8 mA and nominal coil voltage of 24 Vdc. If enclosure depth is at a premium, consider ASI328036 which is the low-profile version measuring 15% less than the standard relay and has the same specifications as ASI328002.  Pluggable SPDT Relays from ASI are UL Listed and accept 26 to 14 AWG wires in screw clamps terminations.

The Coil to Contact isolation is 4000 VAC and the Isolation between Output terminals is 1000 VAC.  A LED Status Display identifies when the module needs replaced. Wiring and labor costs are reduced greatly when a relay module is in need of replacement since only the worn out module is removed from underneath the quick release lever. The DIN rail mounted base and wire terminations stay intact. The new replacement relay module is inserted and held in place by the same lever. Additionally, plug-in jumpers for both parallel coil and contact connections are available. The operating temperature range is from -40 °C to 70 °C (-40 °F to 158 °F).
