Motor Feedback System Claims To Be Smallest

May 1, 2000

Claiming to be the industry's smalest multi-turn, motor-feedback system, the SR 50 series single- and multi-turn motor-feedback system comes in a 50-mm housing. The device provides an accuracy down to ±5 arc-sec and resolutions to meet the demands of digital drives for reduced update times in the 50- to 200-µs range.
Initial single-turn absolute resolution via a digital channel is 15 bits and in the multi-turn version resolution is 27-bits. Resolutions for the dynamic-speed and position loops are up to four to eight million counts, after 12-bit a/d conversion of the 1024 analog signals. Operating temperature range is up to 125°C.
A kit version, the SCS-KIT 101, that includes the company's HIPERFACE interface is available for hollow-shaft motors and motors with large shaft diameters. The kit will work with motors with shaft diametrs up to 53 mm.
