Groomed for motion-control applications where space is extremely limited, the PIM2401 intelligent, plug-in minidrive measures 39 mm x 44 mm x14 mm and weighs 15g. The module can mount horizontally or vertically inside the machine or near the motor. It employs what the company calls simple pins, an architecture that reduces assembly time, and it controls DC, brushless, linear, and stepper motors up to 25W (24V/1A). Another advantage, the module can execute complex motions without an external controller. Users can execute motion modes, i.e., contouring, profiling, gearing, electronic camming, and PVT, in stand-alone or multi-axis configurations. Additionally, PC and PLC motion libraries are available as well as starter kits and the PIM2401 supports CiA standard DS-30 v4.02 CANopen. TECHNOSOFT US Inc., Canton, MI. (734) 667-5275.
