Packing bootstrap functionality, the IRS2336xD 600V three-phase protected gate drivers find employment in motor control, servo drives, micro-inverter drives, and a range of general-purpose applications. The bootstrap functionality can reduce a bootstrap power supply from six components to three while providing VBS over-voltage protection. Integrating power MOSFET and IGBT gate drivers with three high- and three low-side referenced output channels, the ICs provide 180-mA/330-mA drive currents at a MOS gate drive up to 20V while operating up to 600V. Other integrated features include negative-versus-immunity circuitry to protect the system from catastrophic events and an advanced input filter to reject noise and reduce distortion. Protection features include under-voltage lockout, dead time, shoot-through, a shutdown input, and fault reporting. All devices in the series are compatible with 3.3V input logic. Available in 28-pin SOIC and 44-pin PLCC packages, pricing begins at $1.89 each/100,000. INTERNATIONAL RECTIFIER, El Segundo, CA. (310) 252-7726.
