Detailed as a compact, low-cost programmable high-current three-phase trapezoidal drive for brushless dc motors, the TA2215 suits industrial applications such as warehouse and factory automation, conveyors, air compressors, pumps, forklifts, and auto guided vehicles. Working off a 36- to 96-Vdc supply, the drive delivers up to 12 kW at 125A peak and 7.2 kW at 75A continuous. It employs a motor’s Hall sensors, selectable at 60? or 120? timing for velocity feedback and is programmable at start-up to ramp up at a preset rate and maintain a constant velocity regardless of changes in load. Measuring 9” x 8.5” x 2.2”, the drive also features selectable speed ramping, status LEDs, internal-temperature monitoring, an external-motor thermal-switch input, a fixed-speed potentiometer adjustment, and a 0V to 5V speed command with a direction input.
