In a 3 mm x 3 mm package, the C8051T60x family of 8-bit microcontrollers combines a 25 MIPS CPU, 10-bit 500 ksample/s a/d converter, and a ±2 % oscillator. The devices suit consumer and industrial applications including toys, camera modules, cell phone accessories, portable devices, home appliances, and motor controllers. The C8051T60x is also pin-compatible with the C8051F30x flash-based MCU family to allow upgrades and lower-cost product versions without requiring the development of multiple hardware platforms. In addition, a full-featured development kit is available containing all the hardware and software required to develop an embedded system, including a socket to program one-time programmable (OTP) memory. Other features include 8 KB of OTP memory, PWM, timers, an SMBus, and a UART. Pricing starts at $0.45 each/10,000. SILICON LABORATORIES INC., Austin, TX. (877) 444-3032.
