The R08 Planetary Gearhead delivers high continuous torque of 0.05 Nm within an overall envelope of 8 mm. It features provide increased gearhead life and durability, making it capable of delivering twice the radial-load carrying capacity (up to 10 N) when compared with many similar models. The standard gearbox is available from 4 to 256 ratios, and can be further extended to higher ratios of 4096. Each R08 gearhead can be coupled with brush DC, brushless, and stepper motors in their respective frame sizes. A unique crimping process performed along with the press fit significantly increases strength and shock absorption capacity. Designers will also benefit from a monobloc shaft that reduces the total number of system components and the metallic tube which lowers noise and increases torque output of the complete assembly.
