Linear Motors Boost Machine Efficiency

Sept. 1, 1999

The LinMot P linear motor family was conceived from a university/corporate research program and is engineered to provide simple functionality and reliable operation. The motors are a suitable replacement for or supplement to conventional linear motor technologies, such as steppers, servomotors, mechanical cams, pneumatic cylinders and mechanical levels. The motors are useful in many precision linear motion applications, including textile machinery, packaging and handling machines, robotics, and much more.Intrinsically free from mechanical play, gearing or belt wear, the motors offer digital control and regulation, programmable path curves, decentralized intelligence and fieldbus coupling. Units offer acceleration to 250 m/s2, stroke range to 1460 mm, peak force to 200 N, and repeatability to ±0.05 mm.
