To ensure extremely long motor life, the EC series of brushless, pancake-style motors are electronically commutated. Good heat dissipation and high-overload capability are achieved by assembling the motor with the coils outside of the rotor. The motor weighs 32g (1.13 oz.) and measures 32 mm (1.26") in diameter and its body length, sans shaft, is 8.9 mm (0.35"). Continuous output power is 3W, while maximum speed is 12,000 rpm. The pancake motor also has an ambient temperature range of -40°C to +85°C (-40°F to +185°F) and is offered with a Hall-effect sensors as an option.
