These precision positioning stages employ proprietary segmented cylinder linear bearing elements that are said to optimize stability and smoothness of travel. The SR Series of micrometer-driven positioning stages is well-suited for scientific, micro-electronic, instrumentation and medical applications. The proprietary bearing design combines the benefits of a line-contact linear bearing with the stability and damping features of a pure friction dove-tail element. The design includes a series of short segmented-cylinder bearing elements contained by four hardened stainless-steel rods. The rods on each side serve as the bearing raceway.
