Said to be fabricated from the best radiation-resistant materials available, the RH series radiation-hardened step motors are now available in seven standard frame sizes: 5, 11, 15, 17, 23, 34, and 42. The motors are rated for a total accumulated dose of 2 x 108 rads standard, with ratings to 1x109 rads available on a custom basis. They feature high-temperature windings and are compatible with most bi-polar drive systems. Available motors include low-power models with a torque range of 0.2 to 26 oz-in, moderate-power models with a torque range of 60 to 450 oz-in, and high power models with a torque range of 400 to 1,600 oz-in. Custom variations are available including ac motors, assemblies, and complete radiation-hardened motion control systems. EMPIRE MAGNETICS INC., Rohnert Park, CA. (707) 584-2801.
