The EC MP80 snubber circuit motor capacitor fits IGBT terminal spacing and is claimed to reduce inductance by 60% to 90% compared to conventional leaded caps. The component is also said to minimize spiking with increased frequency response that can be specified in standard voltage ratings to 3.3 kVdc and up to 920 Vac. This metallized, polypropylene capacitor combines a proprietary construction with a unique near-zero inductance technology. The standard line consists of seven styles with voltage ranges from 400 Vdc to 3.3 kVdc, a continuous current rating to 45A, an ESR as low as 0.003 ohms, and an operating temperature range from -55°C to 105°C. Custom devices can also be specified and all components have screw-down terminals to replace lead wires.
