Expanding the FPAL/FPBL series smart power modules for 100 to 235 Vac, three-phase inverter drives operating at up to 2 kW, 12 additional modules now offer users high, medium and low switching frequencies and a higher rms current rating (15A with a one minute rms current of 23A). The latest modules are isolated to 2,500V and measure just 55 mm x 57 mm. Other features include a built-in, high-voltage integrated circuit that eliminates the need for opto-couplers and allows the IGBTs to be driven from a single supply. Prices range from $16 to $26 each/2,000. FAIRCHILD SEMICONDUCTOR INTERNATIONAL, San Jose, CA. (888) 522-5372.
