Introduced as the first family of ARM-based microcontrollers for industrial applications, the STR730F series operates from a single 5V rail and over an extended temperature range from -40°C to +105°C. Their ARM7TDMI RISC processor core delivers up to 32 MIPS and zero-wait-state access to 64 KB or 256 KB of flash memory. To reduce stress on the CPU, they include a 16-channel DMA facility. Peripherals include three independent CAN controllers, a 3-µs, 16-channel 10-bit a/d converter, up to 16 PWM outputs supporting multiple single- or 3-phase motor-drive requirements, serial interfaces, and a real-time clock. Available in TQFP144 (20 x 20), TQFP100 (14 x 14), and BGA144 (10 x 10) packages, prices for the STR736FV0 (TQFP100, 64 KB flash, 4xUART, and 12xPWM) and STR730FZ2 (TQFP144, 256 KB flash, 3xCAN, 4xUART, and 16xPWM) are $4.53 and $8.99 each/10,000, respectively.
