Among miniature 2-phase hybrid stepping motors, the PK series is said to have in the 1.1 in. sq. frame size the highest torque density (torque per unit volume) available today. The steppers with this frame size come in lengths of 1.26", 1.57" and 2.03" and produce holding torques of 9.2, 13.7 and 16.6 oz.-in., respectively, in bipolar excitation mode. Shaft speeds in excess of 4,000 rpm are achieved at lighter load conditions for these models. The PK series is also available in a 1.38 in. sq. frame size. It comes in lengths of 1.46" and 2.05", produces holding torques of 28 and 54 oz.-in., respectively, in bipolar excitation mode, and achieves shaft speeds of over 3,000 rpm at lighter load conditions.
