Designers can select from a range of motor windings, gears and gear ratios, and gear box housings for a new family 16-mm planetary gearmotors. The compact DC motors have a speed range of from 7 to 3,000 rpm, and their motor windings can meet any voltage required from 1V to 36V. The lightweight (1.5 oz.) gearmotors have a torque range of 1 to 30 oz-in. and are up to 90% efficient. The 1-, 2-, 3- and 4-stage motors have standard ratios from 3.6:1 to 450:1; other ratios are also available. In addition to standard steel housing and gears, nylon gears can be specified, too--gearmotors with a nylon housing and gears are well-suited for use where excessive noise cannot be tolerated. The compact gearmotors are for use in pick-and-place systems, medical equipment, office machines, toys, appliances, robotics, and more. SOURCE ENGINEERING INC., Santa Clara, CA. (408) 980-9822.
