VME Motion Controller Has 64 Versatile I/Os

Dec. 1, 1999

The DMC-13x8 Optima Series VME motion controller is available in one- through four-axis formats, which enables control of both step and servo motors on any combination of axes. The unit features 64 programmable I/Os.With the introduction of the DMC-13x8, users of the firm’s motion control products in VMEbus applications are upgraded to the Optima Series. Features include 12-MHz encoder inputs, multitasking of up to eight programs, sinusoidal commutation for brushless motors, flash EEPROM for firmware updates, high-density shielded cables for noise immunity, and command processing rates as fast as 0.5 ms. Motion-control modes include independent axis positioning, linear and circular interpolation, contouring, electronic gearing and ECAM.
