Offered as the industry's first DIN-rail mountable, optically isolated, electronic module designed specifically for use with incremental encoders, isolation circuitry in this module acts as an encoder interface to provide an electrically robust output to the receiving electronics. This is said to be a viable solution for systems that are marginal due to poor signal compatibility with the receiving electronics or installations that are particularly susceptible to noise or grounding problems. Providing a clean interface between the encoder and the receiving electronics, this optical isolator can be used to eliminate ground loops, reduce signal degradation from long cable runs by acting as a repeater, or even provide a means to distribute an encoder signal to multiple input devices. Offered in an industry standard package, a number of input and output options are also available.
