Designed to handle the high speed and torque of the company's 17 to 23 stepper motors rated up to 1.4A, the STAR biploar MSU500 five-phase micro stepping driver is said to provide smooth, quiet operation and versatile integration into many types of mechanical and electrical instrumentation. The modular design of the unit requires a power source of 24 to 36 Vdc. Built-in features and sinking-type inputs include direction control, internal protection devices, selectable maximum output current, full-step and half-step and micro-step input selections, and clock input signals of ±CW and ±CCW. In addition, a green lit indicator provides users with an assured visual of the unit's ongoing signals and communication with the motor and controller. An automatic motor current on/off input during none-running period prevents overheating. Applications include medical equipment, packaging, and telecom products.
