Measuring just 0.35" in height, the RCML15 encoder combines both brushless motor commutation and incremental position feedback in its design. The optical encoder features a patented side gap mechanism, said to ease installation and maximize performance. A built-in servo groove allows ±20° rotation of the encoder to align the combination tracks with the motor poles. The component is available with resolutions up to 2,048 lines and commutations for 4-, 6- or 8-pole brushless motors. RENCO ENCODERS INC., Goleta, CA. (888) 736-2612.
