In the interest of saving space, the Type KR15 LM guide actuator combines a miniature LM guide and a miniature ballscrew in a single block. The component employs four rows of circular contacts, which are said to provide high rigidity and low fluctuations in rolling resistance under load conditions. The rigidity, as well as moment of inertia, are further improved by fabricating the cold-drawn outer rail out of stainless steel. With an eye on applications that require a fair degree of accuracy, the actuator is available in high- and precision-grade versions. The high-grade component has a positioning accuracy of 0.04 mm and the precision-grade version has a positioning accuracy of 0.02 mm. Both versions are available with rail lengths from 75 to 200 mm. And both provide a basic dynamic load for the LM guide side of 1930 C (N) and basic static load rating of 3450 C0 (N). Also reported as suitable for clean environments, the actuator employs AFF grease as standard. For further information and price, contact THK AMERICA, Schaumberg, IL. (800) 763-5459.
